Landon's 2 Year Milestones

31 pounds (83%)
35 inches long (67%)
head circumference - 20 (93%)

Here are just a few of the fun things he's up to these days:

He wears 2T/3T shirts and 2T pants and shorts. I think he’s built just like his dada!
On his 2nd birthday he was wearing a size 4 diaper. We’ve moved up to 5’s since.
He’s still a GREAT eater…his very favorite foods are cheese and "bwue"/"gwape" sicles.
He also likes beef ravioli, cheese ravioli, yogurt, macaroni and cheese, hot dogs, ham, turkey, carrots, bananas, kiwi, strawberries, melon, and lots of other things.
He has more words than we can count. He also has several two or more word phrases. One of his latest phrases from just this past weekend is “it’s my turn now”. He said this while I was playing Skip-Bo with his cousin Shawna and her friend Taelor who were here visiting! He also says “cool momma” when something is cool. His little voice is the sweetest thing and we love hearing him say new words and phrases all the time.
He can name several animals from his animal book and can also make their sound
He likes to work puzzles and is pretty good at them!
He can count to 3 – and does so every night at bath time. Oooone, twooo, freeee, GO!
He knows a few colors.  bwue, wed, ellow, onge and geen
He loves his “vroom vroom” and rides it all over the house and outside
He takes one nap in the afternoon for about an hour and a half
He loves preschool! The friends he talks the most about are Luke and Liam.
His favorite shows are Dino Dan, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Dance-a-lot Robot and Wonder Pets
He loves to read and one of his favorite books is “Goodnight Moon”
He really likes to listen to the radio in the car and before we taught him to say “radio please” he would scream until we turn it up loud!
I have no idea how many teeth he has…the one that was knocked loose is still hanging in there!
He loves to feed the kitty and can just about do this all by himself
He loves to play outside…and especially loves the water hose and blowing bubbles

And last but not least…he’s going to be a BIG BROTHER!
We are excited to announce that Baby Battreal #2 is due on October 29th!

BB2 is 7 weeks and 1 day old in this picture so as you can see he/she has some growing to do! We are so happy and feel so blessed!

Landon's Birthday Party at The Wonder Place!

So, last year Mother Nature was not my best friend when she sent heaps of snow and ice which caused us to move Landon's party from a Saturday to a Sunday...luckily it all turned out great and Mother Nature redeemed herself this year by sending absolutely gorgeous weather for his 2nd birthday party!

We had Landon's 2nd birthday party at The Wonder Place.  The Wonder Place is a super cool place here in Little Rock that has tons of fun play things for kiddos.  They have different party themes to choose from.  We chose Little Picassos which was an art themed party and the kiddos got to paint as their activity before cake and ice cream.

Landon and his friends had a super time playing...and everyone but Landon seemed to enjoy the cake and ice cream.  He threw a fit when we started to sing Happy Birthday and brought him a cupcake with a candle to blow out.  Apparently the kid isn't fond of being the center of attention!  He didn't get that from his mommy who sometimes forgets that the world doesn't totally revolve around her! Ha!

Here are a few fun pictures from our fun day!

I made a photo banner using a picture from each month from the year Landon was 1.

Bubbles!

Landon LOVES bubbles!  Last week we broke out a new bottle and it wasn't long before they were in a puddle on our back step.  The remains stayed on our back step for a while and every time Landon saw them he'd say "bubboos gone".

So, since I'm the coolest mom ever I bought the kid some more "bubboos".  The spill proof kind.  Sunday afternoon we gave em a try and had a little photo shoot at the same time.  I took something like 170 pictures and these are the ones that turned out...and I'm pretty proud of them!  I'm really starting to love photography and I especially love the new lens that Santa brought!

These spill proof "buboos" are cool!
Show me some bubbles!

Cool!
Woohoo!  2 Bubbles!

Let's chase em Momma!

Wonder if I can touch them!

Yep, I can!

I'm going to try to catch another one!

Juice break!  Blowing and chasing bubbles is hard work man!

Grillin' with my Daddy

Landon has started calling us Mommy and Daddy some instead of Mama and Dada...no sure where that came from but we kind of like it.  He's just talking up a storm lately and is like a little parrot.  He repeats almost everything!

He also mimics us...which is pretty funny.  Here is a perfect example...however, now that I think about it I'm not sure when Landon could have seen his Daddy grill since his Daddy seems to be time challenged when cooking outside and normally does so well into the evening after Landon has been asleep for hours.  (Sorry sweetie, you knew that was coming!)  :)

Our awesome friends the Waggoner's and Johnson's gave Landon this super, duper fun grill for his birthday!!!  Jim couldn't wait to put it together!  He put it together the day after Landon's party and they had fun grillin' Mommy some yummy "bood".

Daddy, let's fire this thing up!

How bout a hot dog?

Master of the "weenie catchers".

Just like my dad...
My mommy loves this picture...it makes her smile really big!

This cabinet is just perfect for my grillin' supplies!

Gotta have some ketchup aka "bib" on my burger!

Snowpocalypse, Chili and The Best. Chocolate. Pie. Ever.

So, I'm stealing the term "snowpocalypse" from a million people who have termed our latest downfall as such.  Last night I mocked superintendents and business owners in all of the metro area for calling Thursday off before a single flake of snow fell from the sky.  This morning when I woke up around 7 I made Jim look out the window to tell me if I could stay in bed a smidge longer or if I should get up and get ready for another day in the office.  Yep, dry...it was dry as could be outside.  SOOO, I drug myself out of bed and started getting ready for work.  By the time I got out of the shower the snow had begun falling and it was falling fast!  I checked my email and learned that most of my team would be working from home so I decided to do the same.  Good thing...because we had 6 inches on the ground in no time!  I'm convinced that Mother Nature is bipolar and needs medication considering we are supposed to have what Jim calls "golf weather" by Monday!

Anyway, Jim is like a kid when it snows...he can't stand the thought of staying in all day and he has this insatiable need to get out in it.  He took Landon to Nana and Papa's so I could get a little work done and he went in to the office.  I knocked several things off the ole' work list and Jim brought Landon home for a day of snow fun!  I cooked a big pot of chili and we headed outside to play with the neighbors. When we had had enough of the snow we all came back to our house for some chili, visiting, grown up drinks and card playing...the kiddos didn't quite like the idea of the grown ups playing cards so we only got a couple a' rounds of spades in.  Nicole whipped up a chocolate pie from scratch - I'm impressed that she had all the stuff to do it in her pantry (cause I sure don't!) and it was ahhhh-maaaaa-zing.  While no pie crust can quite beat my Mama's I will tell you that Nicole is on to something with her crumble crust and I can't wait to get the recipe!  I didn't get many pictures from today but I'm hoping that I'll get some good ones tomorrow...we plan to play in the snow, eat leftover chili in the form of chili dogs and I'm really, really hoping there is more chocolate pie to share tomorrow...cause, losing weight is SO overrated.

What is this stuff!?

YAY...more sledding!
Snow drift!

Queen Kitty

Queen Zoe hasn't had much of a blog presence since Prince Landon arrived. Poor Kitty. Landon loves to terrorize Zoe by yelling/growling "doooowwwn" anytime she's anywhere he doesn't think she belongs. Deep down they like each other...especially when Landon gives her "Kitty bood" in the mornings.

Pizza Date with Mom and Dad!

My momma and dadda took me out for pizza after Mass tonight. It wasn't because I was so good at Mass though...it was because they didn't want to clean the kitchen. I did redeem myself and acted much nicer during dinner than I acted during Mass!  I've been so good that they might take me for frozen yogurt!

Happy Birthday Landon!!!

Landon,
You are 2 today!!  This morning, right before we woke you up by singing Happy Birthday while wearing silly birthday hats and blowing fun party favor blowouts, your Dada and I reminisced about the day your were born.  It was such a crazy, unexpected day with a very happy ending.  We've enjoyed watching you grow and learn over the last 2 years.  You are precious to us and we love you so, very much!!
Happy Birthday Dude!
Love,
Momma and Dada

PS - you were not a fan the way we woke you up cause you take after your momma in the morning...but after we gave you a fun party favor blowout you perked right up and headed straight for your first present of the day...a new book!  "Oh My Oh My Oh Dinosaurs" by Sandra Boynton.

Landon is almost 2!

Our favorite kiddo is going to be 2 in a week and we can't believe it!  These last two years have gone by so fast and our little guy is learning so much!  He knows his name (Nanon) and how old he's going to be on his birthday!

Happy Almost Birthday Yogurt Mohawk Kid!  We love ya!
