Happy Birthday Landon!!!

Landon,
You are 2 today!!  This morning, right before we woke you up by singing Happy Birthday while wearing silly birthday hats and blowing fun party favor blowouts, your Dada and I reminisced about the day your were born.  It was such a crazy, unexpected day with a very happy ending.  We've enjoyed watching you grow and learn over the last 2 years.  You are precious to us and we love you so, very much!!
Happy Birthday Dude!
Love,
Momma and Dada

PS - you were not a fan the way we woke you up cause you take after your momma in the morning...but after we gave you a fun party favor blowout you perked right up and headed straight for your first present of the day...a new book!  "Oh My Oh My Oh Dinosaurs" by Sandra Boynton.

Landon is almost 2!

Our favorite kiddo is going to be 2 in a week and we can't believe it!  These last two years have gone by so fast and our little guy is learning so much!  He knows his name (Nanon) and how old he's going to be on his birthday!

Snow Day 2011

The weather people got it right this time!  They predicted snow after 2pm on Sunday and shortly after 2pm their prediction became our super fun reality!  I love how everything in the south shuts down because of a few inches of snow...I was able to work some from home and Jim didn't have to go to work at all so we enjoyed a fun filled snow day with our new neighbors!

PS - I've already starting pleading with Mother Nature to lay off the winter weather the weekend of Landon's party so we don't have a repeat of last year!!

Okay, dad I got my winter rock shirt, two pairs of pants, two pairs of socks and my rubber boots...let's hit the slopes!

Oh yeah, forgot about the coat!

Woohoo!  Too cool for school...glad it's out today!

That's cold dada!

I love being chauffeured...especially in the snow!

Working on a snowball!  Look out guys!

Hey Scott and Ben!  Can I hitch a ride on that vroom vroom?

Wait up Ben!

Ahhh, Dada's sled from the 70s!

I sure am glad Nana and Papa saved this...they just don't make em like the used to!

Wooohooo!  Sledding is fun!

Whee!

High Five Dada!  That was awesome!

Momma's turn!

Isn't this fun mom!?

Think I'll hitch a ride back up the hill this time.

Snow fun with the neighbors!

Woooooo Pig Sooie!

First snow at our new house.

We love it and we had such a fun snow day!

Bubhowse

That's Landon speak for "clubhouse".  Aunt Meredith, Uncle Vaughan and the cousins gave Landon a super fun Toy Story play tent for Christmas!  Landon loves it!  He's called it his bubhowse since he got it and he likes for us to get in with him!

"Dees bubhowse ees bun!"

Hewoooo!

Cheese!

Momma doesn't have to write captions anymore!

Why you ask?  Because Landon is talking up a storm these days and is providing stuff that's way better than his momma's silly captions.

Santa brought Landon his very own "vroom vroom like Papa's" for Christmas and to say the kid loves it would be a gigantic understatement.  To say he loves "sicles" (popsicles) is an even bigger understatement...he's also into saying things are "boke" (broken) if they're not turned on and he doesn't know how to turn them on or if the batteries are dead.

So, today when Dada picked Landon up from Nana and Papa's he wasn't in the best of moods...he either didn't nap well at school or he was just feelin' the grumpies...we all have those days, right?  Dada recapped this conversation for me when I got home.

Upon getting home from Nana and Papa's:

Dada:  "Landon why don't you ride your vroom vroom for a while."
Landon:  "ok."
Landon:  vrrrrooooommmm vrrrooooommmm - all around the obstacle course he created in the house and then stops in the kitchen where Dada was.
Landon:  "I want a sicle"
Dada:  "No, you can't have a sicle."
Landon:  "I want a siiiiiccccle!"
Dada:  "Okay, after dinner you can have a cicle.  Now go ride your vroom vroom some more."
Landon, while pretending to push the button to make it go looks up at Dada and says:  "It's boke. I want a cicle."
Dada (while surely trying his hardest to suppress loads of laugher),  Landon, it's not broken.
So, Landon clearly understanding that his little trick didn't work, took off giving Jim a very mischievous grin on his way by!

You probably had to be there - I wasn't but the way Jim told it cracked me up and I had to write it down so we'd remember.  I think we have an ornery guy on our hands and we love every minute with him!
