"Gain a child...lose a tooth"

Yep, that tale is apparently as true as the one that predicted the gender of BB2 because while I was pregnant with "Mr. Big Brother To-Be" I lost part of a tooth and had to wait until he got here to have it capped.

We got to see our baby on tv and it turns out the Old Wives were right...
IT'S A GIRL!!!!

So, even though we were "not so secretly" hoping for a boy we couldn't be more excited about our precious baby girl. Landon's even okay with it - even though when we told him we were going to call her "Maddie Kate" he said, "No, Bubby!"...but he knows he's going to have a baby sister and he already calls her "MaddieTate".

And here is the first belly pic!  We took a gazillion pictures but between the shadows all over our house and my new too-short hair cut I wasn't loving any of them...so, the first belly shot is a faceless one!  In this picture I'm wearing maternity clothes...but just like with Landon almost all of my regular clothes still fit and the maternity ones, while comfy, don't stay up well!  Maybe Maddie Kate is telling me to eat more chocolate so I'll fill out the belly panel - only I know that eating chocolate would only backfire and there are no panels in the hiney and thighs of maternity wear!

BB2: 14 weeks 4 days.

BB2 is over 14 weeks now and we're in the second trimester!  Here's what's going on with him...yes, I said him.

"Growing by leaps and bounds, by week 14 of pregnancy, your baby is leaping and bounding.  He (okay, or she) is on the move constantly - and those movements are a far cry from those jerky twitches of last trimester.  They are now ballet-like, smooth and fluid.  Your baby could be starting to sprout hair and eyebrows are filling in too!"

So, of course, we want nothing more than a healthy baby but we're kinda pulling for BB2 to be a boy.  Never mind that his heart rate is super high and in the girl range, I'm craving sweets and ALL of the Chinese gender predictor charts point to girl...all the little kids in the neighborhood are boys, we have boy stuff, we know what to do with boys, and after all, Landon has requested a brother named "Bubby".  His Mimi and Nana would prefer to buy pink.  Since our doctor and his nursing staff can be bribed with baked goods we'll definitely be taking a big ole box of cookies or some other baked good to our 16 week appointment hoping for a sneak peak at our little one.

We haven't started taking belly pictures yet...and although I think I might have a smidgen of baby belly, I'm not too sure if it's a result of leftover Landon weight, cheese dip and chocolate or actual baby.  I'm not wearing maternity clothes yet...but maybe we'll start with the pictures in the next couple of weeks!

Easter...one more time!

Okay, I totally forgot to post pictures of Easter morning in my last post!  So, since I've already described how Easter morning went with the basket from the Easter Bunny (E.B) and the egg hunt and all...here are some pictures from our very, very early morning!

Mr. E.B. brought Landon all kinds of goodies including toys for our trip to the beach in July!

Candy at 7am...why not?!  I'll tell you why...because Momma and Dada knew he wouldn't really eat it!  However, from the way Landon acted at mass his tiny bites must have amounted to some sort of sugar overload!  Needless to say we didn't get any fun family pictures from Easter morning.  Sad.
