Maddie Kate is 11 Months Old!

Maddie Kate, you're actually past 11 months - I'm behind again.  This is the story of my life lately.  We cannot believe that you're almost 1 year old!  You are just a precious little thing and we are enjoying having you around.  I'll post more at your 1 year post but will note here that you're officially walking and trying to run!  You're getting ornerier by the day and you have a grin much like your brother's that will serve you well as your get out of jail free card.  (Just don't try it in real jail...ok?)

You are not a fan of the headband-bow combo - it's okay, I don't make you wear them very often. 

Joe Cool and the Library

Tonight Landon and I made our second trip to the library to return his book and get new ones. On the way he put on his shades and read the one it was time to return with Simba in the backseat. Today we checked out 3 new books and a DVD! I think Library time is going to be a fun activity for our kiddos!

Happy Early Birthday to Maddie Kate!

Great Mama and Papa sent MK an early birthday card that sings!!! It's so cute and Mama wanted me to get a picture or video of her when she opened it. I got a cute video! She loves it and has listened to it a bunch! Thanks Great Mama and Papa!

Dance Party!

Sister has acquired some moves and I had to have her brother dance in the background because he kept stealing her stage. We don't always listen to kid music. I've got to introduce them to Billy early and Uptown Girl was one of my first favorite songs thanks to Aunt Judy. I think MK is a fan!

Maddie Kate is 10 Months Old!

I get more and more behind on these every month - suffice it to say, after she turns a year old I'll not be posting monthly updates.  Ha!  Maddie Kate is actually only 9 days away from being 11 months old...but I couldn't skip her 10 month post!

I don't have any major stats to post but I do have a little bit of exciting news!  Miss Maddie Kate is sleeping much better these days (knock on wood - cause she's sleeping now and I want her to say asleep!).  She goes to bed around 7:30 each night and although she still wakes up in the night at least once, the fact that she goes to sleep at a consistent hour each night is major, major progress.

and...

she's WALKING!  Not full time yet - but sister can take several steps and I think all she's lacking is the last bit of confidence to nix the crawling altogether.

Last Trip to the Pool - 2012

We took the kids to swim one last time before the pool closed over Labor Day weekend.  Maddie Kate didn't get to visit the pool much this year but I know she will love it as much as her big brother loves it next year!  Landon and his daddy spent a lot of time at the pool and I think that's so much fun!  Landon perfected jumping off the diving board this year - next year we're going to work on walking around the pool and not running.

A Trip to the Library

On the way home from gymnastics on Monday Landon was full of questions! Somewhere in the middle of "who is God?" and "where is heaven?" (yes, really) he asked about going to the library! It made me realize that we haven't been to the library yet! I decided that I would check out the nearest location and see if they stayed open long enough for us working momma's to enjoy it with our kiddos. They do and we have one close to our house! I picked the kiddos up from Nana and Papa's and Landon was being extra ornery. We almost didn't go to the library because I was afraid I'd be setting us both up for failure. But I decided to chance it and aside from jumping in a chair he did pretty good! We had to get a library card because my old one wasn't in the system anymore and we could only check out one book. Landon wanted a book about a opossum since I had told him I saw one in our yard a few nights ago. Ick!! So, we scoured the children's section and believe it or not we found a whole series of books about a opossum named Gilbert! We took his book to the desk and checked it out and I got a fun picture outside the library! MK enjoyed the trip too! We can't wait to make trips to the library part of our weekly routine!

The fat lip...

I had forgotten that I took pictures of Landon's fat lip! Poor dude. Don't worry. It sure didn't slow him down...not even a little!! You can see that his lip was busted in the same spot that he's missing a tooth! I was a little afraid when I saw all the blood that the tooth fairy would be making another stop on Chaparral Lane. Luckily, we won't be seeing her this time.

Play date at the Wonderplace.

On Saturday MK, Landon and I met up with Amy and Kate for a play date at the Wonderplace.  The kids had fun and Amy and I enjoyed visiting!  Afterwards, we met up with Luke, Ella and Marie at Chick-Fil-A where Landon proceeded to bust his lip - lots of blood, a little drama and a sprite later he was a-ok.  I didn't get any pictures at Chick-Fil-A because the kids kept me busy!

Picking Watermelons at Nana and Papa's Garden!

Last weekend we all met up at Nana and Papa's garden to pick watermelons!  The kids had such a good time and it was so much fun to watch them all together.  I just love that Landon has fun cousins and that they'll get to do so much together as they grow up.
