The Giggles and Grins of a Daddy's Boy!

At Landon's 4 month checkup he weighed 14 lbs 12 oz and was 25 inches long...when his daddy took him to the doctor last week for an eye infection he was already up to 16 lbs 2 oz! So, I'd say the cereal is doing the trick! He really likes the cereal now and is really getting the hang of the spoon. I just can't believe how fast he's growing and learning.

At almost 5 months Landon...
*is a very happy baby! he smiles and lot and rarely fusses
*can hold his head up high when we do tummy time on the boppy (still hates it on the floor!)
*has the cutest little giggle!
*loves to watch his cousins Mary Haven and Hannah!
*can blow some serious raspberries!
*can roll from his back to his belly...but he doesn't do it much because he can't go the other way and again, he hates being on his tummy!
*babbles and coos all the time...he really does have a lot to say!
*LOVES being outside
*sleeps for around 9 hours at night and wakes us up with a smile every morning
*can bear weight on his legs for short periods of time
*chews on his hands and drools non stop...he really tries to get his entire fist in his mouth!
*is trying to sit up on his own
*is a major daddy's boy!
*loves to be in the car and now instead of sleeping he sits in his car seat and tells us about all he sees outside
*plays with small toys...he can pass them from hand to hand and really studies them
*grabs for everything!
*loves to read Guess How Much I Love You and The Going To Bed Book (or maybe mommy just likes reading them!)

I'm sure I've missed something but those are the milestones that come to mind tonight. We love our little guy so much and it's so much fun to watch him grow up and learn new things.

Here are some pictures from the last few weeks.

He takes his paci out of his mouth to look at it but he can't quite get it back in his mouth yet!

Mommy and Landon at lunch after his 4 month checkup...Landon didn't seem to mind them but mommy and daddy had a hard time with the shots and needed cheese dip afterwards to feel better! ha!

We took a road trip to Hot Springs Village one Saturday afternoon. We stopped for lunch at Kara's on the way and had to get a picture of Landon's first of many visits there!

Daddy gets all the smiles! This is from Landon's first trip to one of the golf courses in Hot Springs Village. Had to make a pit stop for a bottle and diaper change...

On our way back from Hot Springs Village we stopped to play with Burke!

Mommy bought this hat with matching shorts...but he outgrew the shorts before we wore them!

This is the face mommy gets...

And this is the face daddy gets!

Such a daddy's boy!

Landon rolled over from his back to his belly...and he hates being on his belly!

Ah, thank you for turning me back over Mimi!

Long time no blog...

It's been almost a month since my last post and Landon will be 4 months old tomorrow. I'm having a hard time understanding where the time has gone! He's growing non-stop and still sleeping through the night most nights. We started him on rice cereal this week and as you'll see from the pictures he's not sure what to think about it. We go for his 4 month checkup and immunizations this Friday so I'll post all of his stats and milestones then.

My first Mother's Day was great! We spent Saturday in Lavaca and Landon got to meet his Great Great Aunt Barbara for the first time. Landon and his daddy gave me a necklace and Landon's nana took him to have a precious platter painted at my favorite pottery place called The Painted Pig. It has Landon's footprints as a butterfly and his hand print as a flower. I don't have any pictures of it yet but will post one when I do. It's adorable and I love it...it made me cry. We spent that Sunday in Little Rock with Jim's family. It was a great weekend!

We had a crawfish boil the weekend after Mother's Day. Several of our friends from out of town that we don't see very often came over and we had a great time visiting! We cooked over 100 pounds of crawfish and had a good time playing Baggo! Landon got to meet a lot of new people and was so good all day...and worn out at the end!

Our new nephew, Asher was born on May 21st. He weighed 7 lbs 6 oz and was 20 inches long. If you remember from Landon's birth story he came hiney first...well, baby Asher decided he would come face first. They both should have stopped for directions...obviously they are going to be true men! ha! Asher is adorable and we are so excited that he and Landon will grow up together!

We spent Memorial Day in Kansas visiting Landon's great grandparents and great aunt and uncle. Poppy and Uncle Chris were there too! We had such a good time and are so glad we were able to go! Landon had fun playing with everyone and they even got him to give us a real giggle! It was about the cutest thing I've ever heard. We absolutely can't wait to go back! Landon was such a good little traveler! He slept most of the way. We made a pit stop for a diaper change and bottle in Springdale at Andrea and Greg's. Her kiddos Luke and Sam are precious and I always love seeing them. Baby Nevel #3 will be here soon and we can't wait to meet him/her!

Here are some pictures from the last several weeks...obviously I couldn't pick just a few.

Look! I can hold my toy!

This is Landon's latest trick! He loves chewing on his fist!

Ride em cowboy!

Still not a fan of tummy time...

Get me off this thing now!

No crawfish for me thanks...I'll stick to formula!

Helping mommy pack for our big trip!

Taking all the toys with us!

Excited about seeing everyone in Kansas!

Beautiful day for a blog!

It's raining cats and dogs here today and I'm baking cupcakes (and blogging in between batches!) for our church's annual festival called Rex Fest.

We've had a busy couple of weeks and I just can't find the time to blog much. Landon is changing all the time and is getting so big! A couple of weeks ago when his daddy picked him up from Nana's he recognized him and got all excited to see him. I'm jealous...he hasn't been as excited to see me! ha! He is starting to hold his head up better and is really becoming more and more alert every day and coos and talks all the time. I've tried to get it on video but I'm pretty sure he's video camera shy!

Last Saturday Landon and I went to visit Auntie Ashley and Burke for a playdate. I think Landon and Burke had a good time and so did the mommies! On Sunday we went to some friends of ours house for a cookout to celebrate baby Dax's baptism and his sister Brooke's 3rd birthday. We had a great time! We played Baggo and decided it was finally time for us to order our own Baggo set. So, on Tuesday I ordered it as an early Father's Day surprise for Jim...later I found out that he had ordered it the day before to surprise me! ha! Luckily I was able to cancel mine.

This week has been pretty laid back which is nice...especially since we're trying to get into a better routine. We did have dinner with our friends Ryan and Emily on Thursday night. We forgot to take pictures but we had a great time! Landon must have had an especially good time because he slept from the time we got home until we woke him up at 6:15 the next morning! I woke up in a panic since he didn't wake us up to eat! He's been sleeping through the night for a week or so now but never that late! We put him to bed between 8 and 9 most nights and he's usually up between 4 and 5am. We love that he's sleeping for that long a stretch...it has really helped us get caught up and has made going back to work a lot easier.

Here are some fun pictures from this week.

Landon and Burke...aren't they adorable?!

So over the photo shoot!

Landon wakes up happy every morning...and loves his Razorbacks!

This face could make anyone a morning person...even me!!!!

And now he's over it...I think he's thinking "listen mommy. no more photos. need bottle now!"

Dax and his sister, the Birthday Girl!

Landon and Dax...Landon was hungry and not in the mood for photos.

My friend Tina made this shirt...Landon loves it!

Meet me at the Sandbar! This shirt's for daddy! We love going to the lake even though we don't get to go much anymore.
Notice the Bumbo...he can't stay in it for long yet but he's holding his head up better so we thought we'd try!

First Easter, Party in the Crib and Smiles!

So, being back at work has seriously cut into my blogging time...haha! Going back hasn't been as hard as I thought it would be but I do wish I could spend more of my days with our little guy. Landon had a fabulous first Easter and was definitely impressed by all the hard work the Easter Bunny put into his basket. He looked so cute in his Easter outfit too.

Landon has really started smiling more lately...and sometimes I really think he giggles and I love love love it! His daddy can really get him smiling. I thought little boys liked their mamma's more...not this one! I think he's a daddy's boy all the way! He's such a sweetie and we feel so blessed to have him in our lives. More in the next post...this working mommy has to get some sleep!

Landon's First Easter

This little onesie says "Party at my crib 2am"...and how true it is! We kick it around 2:40 each morning.

"I'm not going to smile no matter how much you want me to!"

"Okay, maybe just a little one..."

And the grand finale....cutest grin ever!!!

I'm fairly certain it's this very grin that will be Landon's "get out of jail free card" for the duration with his mommy and daddy...let's just say he has us right where he wants us and I fear it won't change anytime soon...check back in a couple of years. I hear the terrible two's really are terrible. ha!

2 Month Check Up, Playdate and Dish Towel Surprise

Landon is 9 weeks old and today he had his 2 month checkup. We are happy to report that we have a happy and healthy baby!

Here are the stats:

Weight: 11 lbs 12 oz - 46th percentile
Height: 22 1/4 in. - 19th percentile
Head Circumference: 15 3/4 - 46th percentile

He is developing right on schedule and we get to start rice cereal at 4 months. He also got a couple shots today and he didn't cry for long. I think he's going to be a tough guy! :) He is really beginning to show us his personality. He coos and talks to us and loves his Baby Einstein playmat. He isn't sleeping through the night yet but he only wakes up once so we are making progress. He is happiest in the morning and naps in the afternoon. He has a really strong grasp and can hold his head up and steady when laying on our chest.

Last week Landon and I had a playdate with Ashley and Burke. Ashley and I were pregnant together and actually due on the same day if you can believe it...however, since Landon was early they are 4 weeks apart. Ashley and I went shopping right after we found out the gender of our kiddos and found the cutest matching outfits so we couldn't wait to take their picture in them!
Isn't Burke adorable!!? And don't you just love Landon's hat?

He's not a fan of the sunglasses but I managed to get this picture before he started screaming...so cute! Can you tell we like the rocker baby t-shirts?

Here are some other pictures from this week...He still isn't much into tummy time but we still try. Here is tummy time on the boppy...he tolerates that a little more. When we do tummy time on the floor he prefers to life his hiney instead of his head...but again, when he lays on my chest he can hold his head up steady and look all around. Stubborn just like his daddy...ha!

Jim's birthday was March 27th and we had a few friends over Saturday night to celebrate. I made peanut butter chocolate cupcakes and they were SO yummy and pretty that I had to post a picture...

The tulips are from our yard. I didn't realize my camera could take such good pictures but I got this one and thought it was too pretty not to post...
