Crawfish Boil 2013

This last weekend was our annual crawfish boil. I don't even know how many years we've been doing this but it's been several. We always have so much fun and it just gets better every year! We have made so many great friends over the last few years and we love having everyone over for mudbugs and fun! As the kids get older it's most fun to watch them play and enjoy the day. This year was a smaller group than last year but we still cooked 80 pounds of crawfish and we added 5 pounds of shrimp. Everyone had a great time and we are already looking forward to next year!! I never take enough pictures but did get a few of the kiddos. Landon and MK seem to love having their friends over and Landon absolutely loves playing in the mudbugs!

Landon's Trip To The Dentist

Landon went to the dentist on Monday!  This was his first visit for a cleaning and x-rays that weren't associated with a loose or broken tooth!  An old friend of mine named Amy that I hadn't seen in a long time is now a hygienist at our dentist office and I was so excited for her to meet Landon!  I was a little nervous about how he would react and behave.  At this age I've decided you just never really know how things will go!  I explained that they would count his teeth and make sure everything looked okay...but didn't tell him they'd do a cleaning because I wasn't sure they would.  Honestly, I didn't have super high expectations that he would be a perfect angel..bad mommy with the low expectations!  Ha!

When we were called back Landon went straight to the chair, told Ms. Amy that he wanted to change the channel on the TV...and when she mentioned Spongebob he even told her, "my mommy doesn't allow me to watch Spongebob!"  Ha!  Which is totally true but in this case the joke was on me...he ended up watching an even less kiddo friendly show on the cartoon network...and also got a Spongebob toothbrush!  Oh well!  He acted so nice, was patient, followed direction and was just a great kid!  He even cooperated with the x-rays!  Dr. Gibson said that our dude has a small cavity in the crooked tooth next to the one that was knocked out...but that tooth is also loose so he isn't going to fill it.  He could also tell from the x-rays that Landon doesn't appear to have any extra permanent teeth.  Which is a relief since he has (or had) two extra baby teeth!

I was so, super proud of our guy that we went straight for a sugar filled cherry icee immediately following his cleaning...but don't worry, it had been thirty minutes since the tooth paint aka fluoride had ben applied.
